Quilt Display / August 19, 2018 / Marveille.
This will probably be the best option if you are looking to preserve your quilt. But this simply means you will not be able to enjoy it all. What`s the point of having a quilt if it`s going to be stashed away where it cannot be seen or used? This is why many quilt owners eventually by a rack to store it on. With an official piece of furniture to place it own family members will be more respectful. And just as important you will be able to display it in whatever room you please.
People who do not particularly like to make quilts using material and a sewing machine have found that they can make beautiful quilts by crocheting. When placed on a bed the quilts stand out with their bright colors and complicated designs. It has been found that designs such as Dresden plate are lovely when done by crochet. Anyone who has done any of the basic crochet stitches can complete a crochet quilt. The result is a beautiful creation that unlike a regular handmade or purchased quilt does not need a filler. In addition it has the advantage that it can be turned and the same beautiful pattern is on the other side.
Observe a playground of 3 year olds playing for a few minutes. They are the busiest little independent group of individuals. Each can make you smile cause you sleepless nights and give you the most love and joy you have ever experienced in your life. As a quilter designing a children`s quilt is much like these little ones on the playground. Each of the unique children`s quilts stand alone in a sea of other unique handmade baby quilts yet all belong to the collection entitled "Children`s Quilts." The quilter smiles and sews thinking of the child who will cuddle under the quilt each night. Yet those late nights spent making sure the children`s quilt meets with the high expectation of its maker if not long hours will be spent until the problem is resolved. But as the quilter adds the last stitches to the finished project she knows that unique handmade quilt will become another keepsake to her growing collection of the children`s quilts.
For making the design wall we need to stick the three layers of fabric that go into the making of the quit batting and fastening them together with the help of safety pins. Using a walking foot we need to stitch on the vertical marked line down the center of the fabric and continue sewing vertical lines out to the rim of the fabric. Once that is done we need to stitch the horizontal lines in the same manner. Once the entire vertical as well as the horizontal lines is sewn we need to straighten and square the edges.
