Bed Frame / September 8, 2018 / Marveille.
It is fact that too many options actually make the choice difficult. However spare a few days for shopping around. This is a prerequisite for any successful purchase. It is a fact that you do not buy a new bed frame everyday and so you must be prepared spend enough time for a market research. Look for different materials and styles. Try to visualize it in your setting and order only after you have found it to be satisfactory.
Just make sure about the type of wood that is used to manufacture the solid wood frame of bed you purchase. Oak and pine are considered the best for bedroom furniture. Plywood looks good but is not sturdy enough. Particleboard again is cheaper than oak or pine but can bend over time with the weight of the mattress. The only drawback is the heavy weight of wood. But its durability beauty and elegance far outweigh this minor drawback.
If your room is low on closet space you may want to consider buying a bed frame that has built-in drawers (captains frame) or minimum one that has amble room to slide storage bins beneath it. Finding a bed can be quite a task. You have to trawl the shops testing mattresses bases and measuring the widths and the heights of each of them. Wouldnt it be great if you could just get a frame for the bed that would allow you to buy any board or base and mattress and you know it will fit?
The traditional four-poster bed as seen in Regency England has become modernized with canopy bed frames. This style once seen only in museums has been given a new lease of life by modern furniture makers who have seen their potential as an elegant yet sturdy bed frame. The modern canopy frames still have the four posts in each corner. These can extend to four feet from the ground and have supports from which curtains will hang. The posts are no longer ornate but have a simpler more utilitarian design that is easy to dismantle and clean.
