Bed Frame / August 20, 2017 / Roesia Merle
Havent we all seen lots of pictures of honeymoon suites with white lace curtains and canopy beds with ivory silken bedspread strewn with rose petals? Now this theme can even be extended to a home. Young couples need not worry if canopy bed frames seem way beyond their budget. They can even convert a simple platform bed into a canopy bed with four poles attached to the four corners of the bed frame. Attach curtain rods to the frames and you can hang curtains to get a canopy bed effect. Apart from a romantic theme canopy ones are also lovely for the rooms of young girls. Done in soft pastel shades with delicate designs canopy frames bring a cool soft look to a young girls room.
Therefore we see that a platform bed is bed whose base is a raised flat and hard surface fit for supporting a mattress. There is no need for a mattress foundation because the frame with the help of its solid paneling provides adequate support for it. They as I have already said can be made from all kinds of material but wood and metal are most popular material used in making platform beds.
Platform bed frame may sound something very special but in actual practice it is the original type of bed that was in use before modern box spring variety was invented. If you are not aware box spring was actually invented only in the middle of the nineteenth century and therefore all bed frames up to that point were by default platform beds. If you are still in doubt have a look at the different images of platform bed frames available online. They come in all shape sizes and make but basically they are all a raised platform meant exclusively for sleeping activities.
